And we're off the Nashville!! This holiday weekend my entire family (yes all 10 of us!) and my grandparents are going to spend the weekend with my aunt and uncle in Brentwood, TN. There are soooo many reasons why I am excited about this trip. Getting to lay out in their new pool all day, drinking margaritas and mimosas by the pool, going to Wannabees for some karaoke, and many, many other things. It is just a fun place to be! I have always wanted to move there after college, and probably will in a couple of years!

Sadly though, this is my last day of work at Black Equipment. I really am going to miss this place and all the great people I have met. Hope I get to come up here soon to visit!

p.s. Jeff/Uncle Kent brought us all Panera Bread bagels this morning. I got a blueberry with walnut cream cheese. It was heavenly!!

I got Carried away!

"Some of these people make my skin crawl. The characters of "Sex and the City 2" are flyweight bubbleheads living in a world which rarely requires three sentences in a row. " - Roger Ebert

"I thought it was fun, fresh, glamorous, and amazing!" - Kalen Sartin

I finally talked to sister into going to the midnight showing of Sex and the City 2 last night. And boy am I glad I did! I thought it was AMAZING!! From the clothes, the boys, the shoes, the closets, it was utterly fabulous!! There were flashbacks, marriages, old loves, new children, new apartments, and many many great moments! To say Carrie Bradshaw is fabulous is an understatement! I loved every outfit she wore, EXCEPT that brown jacket she wore a lot. I thought it was horrendous! But that really is the only bad thing I have to say about it! I have been looking forward to this day for a long time, and it definitely did not disappoint.

A little flashback. They could totally be Charlotte, Samantha, Carrie, and Miranda!

While my work here at Black Equipment is almost over, I am happy because I am very tired and my bum hurts from sitting for 9 hours straight, but I am also sad because I have met some really great people here.

Like Jeff, he is the spitting image of my Uncle Kent, and acts a lot like him. He goes to Costco during every single lunch break to get a hot dog and a fountain coke and bring back a treat for everybody. Monday it was a massive bag of kettle corn, Tuesday was chocolate chip cookies, Wednesday was a coconut birthday cake. It is no ones birthday here! ha I am very anxious to see what he will return with today!

Then there's Scott, who I'm still not sure if he ever does any work. He walks around all day with a confused look on his face and always tells me he doesn't want to answer the calls when I page him.

That brings me to Bob. He DOES NOT answer my pages. End of story.

Before I started working here I was wondering if there was going to be a cute boy to look at all day....Adam! He is precious in soooo many ways. He is new to the job so he doesn't always know what he's supposed to be doing, and he does get yelled at a lot, but he can take it! Annoyingly though, he doesn't always answer the phone when I tell him to, so then I get to deal with these annoying customers! Bit it's exciting that I get to sit beside him ALL DAY LONG! (God I hope he can't see this!)

Other than the people I have named we have Mike, Darrell (brother-in-law), Brian(the boss), Jeff Rogers, Homer(everyone calls him Bubba. Don't know which is worse), and Brad.

Us girls are a little outnumbered here! Stacey, Marlena, and myself is that is here right now, until Rachel, another girl, gets back from her honeymoon! I have known Marlena for a while now, but it's fun to get to hang out with Stacey all day. She is absolutely nuts! ha

I'm really going to miss these people! Guess I'll have to come visit soon!!

Forever, ever, ever...

As I am working this week in Memphis, TN at Black Equipment with my brother-in-law, I find myself having lots of spare time on my hands. After filling out field reports, reporting work orders, and answering the phone (Black Equipment this is Kalen, how may I help you?), there is plenty of time for me to have to myself. Unfortunately for me, they have blocked Facebook from our computers, and I can only play Solitaire so many times. What to do? What to do?

This is when my co-worker Marlana suggested something I have been trying to steer clear of...ONLINE SHOPPING!!! My weakness if I ever had one! Even more of a weakness, Forever 21. I will now be the proud owner of these fabulous items in about 2 to 5 days!

I am really into the new sweater vest these days! This one will look amazing with white shorts/pants!

Could NOT resist this adorable dress! Cute with a nude pump or your favorite pair of gladiator flats!

My favorite purchase of all! I will be wearing this adorable cream dress to my best friend's engagement party coming up. I can already picture the exact accessories I will wear. My mom's layered turquoise necklace from Banana Republic, David Yurman on one wrist (duh!), with a bangle on the other, and my new favorite camel wedge from the queen of a perfect shoe, Jessica Simpson! I honestly CANNOT wait!

June 13

My obsession, Alexander Skarsgard! feel in love with him in Lady Gaga's Paparazzi video, and now on True Blood. He is gorgeous to say the least!

I honestly don't think that June 13th could come any faster. True Blood has become one my favorite shows over the past 2 seasons, and I am in desperate need of it right now. It is so close I can almost touch it, but it's just not here yet! They have been posting posters to tease us all for about 2 months now, and it is killing me! Here are a few!

Besties!!!

To quote one of our favorite songs, "My best friend KK said oh she's just being LeAnne!!!!" This song couldn't describe us more if it tried. As I'm sitting here deciding what I should write about Joe, he sends me a text message. Our conversation goes a little something like this:
(begin convo)
Joe: Miss you.
Kalen: Miss you more.
Joe: Duh, ooh snickers. (Clueless quote) You need to be at Northpark with me right now holding hands with a gallon of diet coke.
Kalen: Duh! Buy me something bitch!
Joe: I got 2 new blazers and a new white lacoste. I'm beside myself!!
Kalen: Do you think I would put gum under my own coffee table? (Baby Mama quote)?
Joe: Bitch I don't know your life. (Baby Mama) Do you prefer fashion victim, or ensembly challenged? (Clueless)
Kalen: Google me bitch! (Four Christmases quote)
Joe: You already did it. To Emily. (The Devils Wears Prada quote)
Kalen: They're so different. (TDWP)
Joe: I took a sleeping pill with my martini I'm out! Loves you bye!
(end convo)

None of this is out of the ordinary! To say we quote movies and songs all the time would be an understatement. It's even worse when we are together! ha Rob HATES it! But in all honesty, I think he's just jealous bc he doesn't know the movies like we do!

Joe literally is one of a kind. He is an amazing person and I seriously don't know what I would do without him! You could say we are like Lavern and Shirley, Lucy and Ethel, Rachel and Monica, Gaga and Perez, Will and Grace, but most importantly, LC and LO!!! Love you boo!!

KK i'm making you LO because you can be a bitch sometimes, but you're a damn good time!

Erin Finley

Don't really know why it has taken me this long to blog about my prescious little niece, but here she is, Erin Finley James! She is my obsession. Not only is she the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life, but the happiest and sweetest too! I can be in the worst mood possible, and as soon as I see her face, I smile. She has just started crawling, so of course I am making her follow me all over the place! There are literally not enough words to describe the way this little bundle of joy makes me feel! I love her sooooooo much!! Here are a few of my favorite pictures of her through the years (8 months)! ha

After bath time with Aunt KK!
This is one of my favorite pics of all time! My sister absolutely HATES it and would kill me if she knew I was doing this, but oh well! It's just so damn cute (to me)!

Going to see Aunt Rachel, Natalia, Trey and Elliot play tennis!

With "Uncle Joe"!!! too cute!
(You all will soon meet Joe. My life wouldn't be complete without him.)

Oh to be a Touhy

Ever since The Blind Side came out, this family has been attending the hottest parties around. Movie premieres in New York, Los Angeles, and New Orleans, the Oscars, and now the White House Correspondents' Dinner. They really get around! ha Here is a pic of them with Jessica Simpson and The Blind Side star Quinton Aaron.

Live. Life. Good....

I dedicate this blog to Madysen Acey. Last Sunday while at a friends house she was playing outside on a tractor, and as she was about to fall off she grabbed onto the first thing she could reach. Sadly, that was a live power line. She was immediately rushed to Le Bonheur Children's hospital in Memphis, TN. From there she was rushed to The Med in Memphis where they immediately had to amputate her right arm, starting at the shoulder. A couple of days later she was sent to the Shiners Burn Clinic in Cincinnati, OH. She has had many surgeries while there, and will have a few more before she can leave. At first they thought they could save her right hand and arm, but after further examining it, they have now amputated from right below the elbow. This prescious little girl couldn't be stronger right now. She is a breath of fresh air. Although she is going through a lot of pain, you would never know it. She has very high spirits and all of this hasn't seemed to fase her yet. She has started physical therapy, so maybe she will be able to come home soon! If you are reading this, please pray for this amazing soul. She is one of the happiest people I have ever met, and I don't think her accident will change that.
Madysen's motto is Live. Life. Good. What an amazing little girl!
