This year they are being hosted by two of my favorite actors ever, Anne Hathaway and James Franco.
Along with hosting this year, James is also nominated for his work in 127 Hours, the story of a mountain climber that gets stuck for 127 hours and ends up cutting his own arm off. I haven't seen it yet, but it does sound amazing!
Since we have been at home a lot for the past two days due to 6 inches of snow(for the second time) in MISSISSIPPI, I have had a lot of time to watch movies. So I decided I would try to watch as many Oscar nominated films as I could.
First up, Blue Valentine.
Although Ryan Gosling is way attractive, and Michelle Williams has been a fav since her days at the Creek, I had high hopes for this particular movie. I think they were too high. It was so freaking depressing!! I thought it was gonna be tons of sex and love since at first it was rating NC-17. It wasn't. There was one very graphic sex scene, but it wasn't even with Ryan(what's the fun in that??) All in all, it was ok, but not my fav.
Next was Black Swan.
I wasn't sure if I even wanted to watch it because I knew it was a tad bit crazy, but since I love Natalie Portman so much, I knew I should watch it. I actually really enjoyed it. It too was a little depressing, but I still liked it. It had a few parts that made my skin crawl, and I might have jumped up off my bed a few times, but it was still a very enjoyable movie! I honestly believe that Natalie has deserved all the awards she has won, and definitely should win the Oscar!
P.S. How hot is Mile Kunis?? Obsessed with her!!
That is all I've watched so far, but I am gearing up to watch The King's Speech.
I have only heard amazing things about it. I mean how cute is Colin Firth?? And I LOVE seeing Helena Bonham Carter in something other than Harry Potter and anything her husband, Tim Burton, creates! I will get back with you on what I think about it.
Until then, I hope everyone is staying warm in this snowy, Mississippi weather!
